Social media has found its latest favourite, and this time, it is model-actress Tanya Mishra.

The actress has garnered attention all over the internet, with many sharing her pictures, calling her the new ‘National Crush of India’.

Also known as Tanyaa Mishra, Tanya was born in Gaya, Bihar, on January 31, 1999, and later moved to Mumbai to pursue a career in modelling and entertainment. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Magadh University and began her career with fashion shows, magazine photoshoots and runway modelling.

Her career eventually opened doors to acting. Tanya starred in films like Ghaznavi and Chasewhere she played a CBI inspector. She was also part of the web series Chidiya Udd, alongside Jackie Shroff, Sikandar Kher and Bhumiika Chawla.

Music videos have been another part of her growing portfolio. Tanya has featured as the lead actress in seven music videos, including Nakhro and You will become mine.

Her latest wave of popularity, however, has largely come from social media. With around 1.2 million followers on Instagram, Tanya’s photographs and fashion posts have been drawing increased attention, with fans using the unofficial ‘National Crush’ tag while discovering more about her work.

The ‘National Crush’ label is, of course, an internet-born term rather than an official title. For Tanya, the sudden attention has brought renewed interest in her journey from modelling to films, web series and music videos — putting her firmly in the social media spotlight.
