One of America’s most intriguing cases had Kim Kardashian investigating, but her curiosity soon turned to panic. On Jimmy Kimmel Live! not long ago, the reality TV star told the story of her secret investigation of OJ Simpson’s Louis Vuitton luggage while Simpson himself was staying at her family’s house while on trial for murder in 1995. Her father Robert Kardashian was Simpson’s lawyer back then and this gave Kim an opportunity to get involved in such a high-profile case outside of the courtrooms
Kim Kardashian recalls searching OJ Simpson’s luggage
In Thursday’s episode of The Jimmy Kimmel Show, Kardashian talked about how seeing the trial proceedings on TV was made even more exciting by Simpson’s arrival at her house.
She told Kimmel: “I just was so into it, and I just saw everything from behind the scenes. I remember, after it had all happened, OJ had come to stay with my dad at the house. He had this Louis Vuitton luggage and brought it into the house,” Kardashian said.
Seeing Simpson’s belongings nearby sparked her curiosity. She wanted to investigate for herself, hoping she might discover something connected to the case.
“And I’m like seeing what’s going on the news, but I see it in real life at my house, so I’m like, ‘I’m gonna’ go play investigator, and I want to go through his luggage and see if I can find anything!’”
However, the excitement did not last long. Kardashian soon realised that touching the luggage could leave her fingerprints on items that might be relevant to an investigation.
“Oh my God, my fingerprints are all over it!” Kardashian told Kimmel.
Simpson was acquitted in the murders of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ronald Goldman, in 1995.
Kim Kardashian spent $80,000 to recover her father’s gift
Kardashian’s connection to Simpson also resurfaced after his death in April 2024 when she sought to reclaim a Bible her father had given him. This Bible is called The Living Bible.
She failed to buy the Bible at auction in March 2025 for $15,000 but she did purchase the family heirloom in November 2025 for $80,000. This not only helped in paying off Simpson’s remaining debts but also helped her in getting hold of her father’s memory.
Her latest memory is yet another glimpse of the unusual things she experienced as a child around one of the most publicized criminal trials in America.
